1. The agreement
By creating an account or using KnockMode (“the service”) you agree to these terms. If you’re using it on behalf of a company, you confirm you’re allowed to accept them for that company.
2. Your account
Your account belongs to you, not to your employer, and it survives you leaving them. You’re responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your login. One account per person, so don’t share a login with another rep.
You must be at least 16 and legally able to enter into a contract.
3. Workspaces
You may work in your own personal workspace and, if invited, in a company’s workspace. Content you create inside a company’s workspace, meaning doors, contacts and notes, is that company’s business record. They keep it when you leave and you lose access to it. That’s the deal that makes companies willing to let you in.
Your own performance totals stay with your account and are not readable by a company after your membership ends.
A company administrator can remove you from their workspace at any time. We aren’t a party to your employment and we won’t arbitrate a dispute between you and a company.
4. Your content, and what we may do with it
You keep ownership of everything you put in. You give us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your content, back it up, and display it to you and to the workspace it belongs to. We don’t use it to train anything, we don’t sell it, and we don’t show it to other users.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law where you’re knocking, including solicitation permits, posted no-soliciting notices, do-not-call rules and local time restrictions. Complying with those is entirely your responsibility.
- Store personal information about homeowners that you have no lawful basis to hold, or keep contacting someone who has asked you to stop.
- Scrape, resell or redistribute the service, or attempt to extract our map data in bulk.
- Attack, overload or probe the service, or try to reach data belonging to another workspace.
- Upload malware or use the service to harass anyone.
We may suspend an account that’s doing any of this, and we will tell you why when we do.
6. Homeowner data is your responsibility
KnockMode is a tool for recording your own work. When you type a homeowner’s name, number or notes into it, you’re the one deciding to collect that information and you’re the one accountable for doing so lawfully. We process it on your behalf. If someone asks you to delete what you hold about them, do it, and the app lets you.
7. Free plan, and paid plans that don’t exist yet
The Rep plan is free and isn’t a trial. We intend to keep the features listed on the pricing page free for individual reps.
There’s currently no billing in the service at all. Field and Core are described on the pricing page as a statement of direction, not as an offer for sale, and nothing on this site forms a commitment to ship them, to ship them at that price, or to ship them on any timetable.
8. The service is early, and what we don’t promise
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. Specifically, and because these matter in the field:
- We don’t guarantee uptime. There’s no service level agreement.
- Map data comes from public sources and is incomplete in places. Addresses filled in automatically may be wrong or missing. Check the door you’re standing at.
- Offline behaviour depends on your device, its storage and its browser. Save your areas before you lose signal and don’t rely on the app as your only record of a critical appointment.
- We keep backups but you should not treat KnockMode as the only copy of anything you can’t afford to lose.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren’t liable for lost sales, lost commission, lost data or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it’s limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months or one hundred US dollars. On the free plan that amount is zero, which is worth being honest about rather than burying.
10. Ending it
You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time through the contact page. We may discontinue the service, and if we do we’ll give reasonable notice and a way to export your data first.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is material we’ll change the date above and tell account holders. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version.
12. Contact and governing law
KnockMode is operated from the United States. The full operating entity, its address and the governing jurisdiction will be published here before paid plans open; until then, reach us through the contact page.
