Blitz days, and when they backfire
A blitz puts a whole team on one neighbourhood at once, usually with a competition attached. They work for morale and for covering an area quickly before a deadline. They backfire when several reps work the same streets without a shared record, which produces double-knocked households, annoyed neighbourhoods and coverage data nobody can trust.
What a blitz is actually for
Energy and speed. A team working one area together produces a different day from a rep working alone, and for new reps a blitz is often the first time the job looks survivable.
The coverage problem
Ten reps in one neighbourhood without a shared live record will overlap. Households get knocked twice in an afternoon, which is the fastest way to generate complaints, and afterwards nobody can say which streets were genuinely covered.
This is a team-tooling problem. KnockMode does not solve it today: there is no shared territory and no live team view, because the team layer is unbuilt.
When they backfire
When the competition rewards doors rather than outcomes, reps optimise for the counter. Fast, shallow knocks inflate the numbers and hollow out the area, and the neighbourhood is worse than untouched because the households now recognise the pitch.
Common questions
- Are blitz days effective?
- For morale and speed, often. For coverage quality, only with a shared record that keeps reps off each other's streets.
- How do you stop reps overlapping in a blitz?
- Assign streets and enforce the assignment. KnockMode cannot do this today — shared territory is a team feature and it is unbuilt.
- What should a blitz competition measure?
- Something closer to outcomes than doors. Counting doors reliably produces shallow knocking, because that is what you asked for.
